Did you know you might be leaving follow-up customers on the table with Etsy?
Back in 2018, we added a link in our listings for 25% off your first purchase to get people to sign up on OUR email list instead of Etsy. It is against Etsy rules to use emails provided on any other platform besides Etsy. So, to retain your customers, you will want to opt-in.
What is an opt-in?
-
Essentially an offer in exchange for something.
-
Example:
-
25% off for signing up
-
-
How do you set up an opt-in page if you don’t have a website?
-
We use FLODESK which provides a FORM (click here for an example of our Etsy form opt-in)
-
Forms are a way to gather email addresses without needing a website. Simply use the URL that is provided by the email service provider you use.
-
We love flodesk, check out why HERE
-
How do you drive people to click the link for the code?
-
We use a simple “Sign up for our emails and get 25% off your first order, here or on our website).
-
That is the first thing in our listing description for EACH product
Why should I care about email list sign-ups anyway?
